A Few Items

First, my second post over at Bench Racing is up, and it's a good one.

Second, yours truly is headed to Rockingham for the ARCA race, and the return of competition to the track after years of absence. It's shaping up to be a good field, and they're running 50 cars for the race. That's a throwback. Among the names to watch in the race will be Joey Logano in the Venturini Chevy, Austin Dillon in RCR equipment (unfortunately, he isn't driving the 3), and veteran drivers Ken Schrader and Bobby Hamilton Jr. I'm absolutely looking forward to the event, Sunday at noon is the scheduled start time.

Third, Talladega is in the rear view, and the season is already a fourrth of the way over. That's almost hard to believe. Many big names haven't entered victory lane, including Jeff Gordon, Matt Kenseth, Dale Jr., Kurt Busch, and Tony Stewart. Meanwhile, Carl Edwards and Kyle Busch are the top two winners, with 3 and 2 respectively. Jeff Burton leads the points and Juan Pablo Montoya is in 12th, and the top 35 rule has bitten the open-wheel rookies, save for Hornish, who remains in the top 35 by the skin of his teeth.

That's all I got for now, I'll try to be back in a few days before The Rock... man, it feels good saying that.

How about that 50 car starting field? The tail-enders will be half a lap down at the start. Shrader may be one of those tail-enders too. Johnny Benson is going to qualify the car for Kenny, while Shrader tends to Cup duties in Richmond. I think that will force a back of the pack start by one of the strongest cars in the field. That will be interesting to watch. Enjoy.
