Going Out On A Limb

I'm going to give a preview of my pre-season predictions now and give my choice for Nationwide Series Rookie Of The Year.  The driver is Michael Annett, who will drive the full schedule in the #15 Toyota Camry for Germain Racing.

Both Michael Annett and Germain have been smart in their decisions.  Annett was dominant in plate races in ARCA, and ran well everywhere else.  In the Truck Series last year, he most the most of his starts, with a 6th-place effort in his debut and a runnerup finish at Kentucky.  Germain hasn't tried to do more than they can afford, and as a result with now compete in the Sprint Cup Series for at least half the year with a new Cup sponsor in Geico.  That team will also have a technical alliance with Michael Waltrip Racing.  In the Nationwide Series, the team that was the #7 with Mike Wallace will be taken over by Annett.  As of now, it doesn't look well for former Truck Series Champion Todd Bodine, unfortunately.  You can decide if that's a good or bad thing for yourself.  It benefits Annett, and it will deliver an ROTY award and possibly a breakthrough win at some point during the year.
